Web sites formatted for Mobile are what exactly

Simple websites that fit mobile phones.

The utility of TAG is dependent on the result of the action it takes.

TAG technology involves mobile devices and therefore subject to reduced bandwidth and higher cost compared to your desktop experience. Providing a good experience for a mobile user requires an entirely different outlook. Those with unlimited data plans may not care but other mobile users remain conscious of the cost of data.

Reducing the amount of data sent pays off in both cost and retrieval time and one of the best ways to achieve that is to design mobile websites with these goals in mind. The term micro-site simply describes the focus of a site's style and functionality and is especially important for sites whose intent is to advertise.

Navigation is another thing that changes. Again, if you are advertising, the best micro-site is linear - a progression of two or three pages, where navigation is understood to be forward and back.

Utility is the key to acceptance and if users cannot navigate simply and easily to get you message, they will turn away. Worse, it's doubtful they will pass your message along to anyone else. It is far more acceptable to cycle your products or change your message daily than to attempt to force someone to page through your entire catalogue.

While it doesn't look that great on a desktop browser, the web page shown here fits mobile exceptionally well. Not only does this page show well but every other linked page in the site maintains the same format. This provides the mobile user with a great experience, even if the subject matter is a little dry.

It is important to generate content to match your audience and the point is that this site is not one you would normally go to while browsing the web. In fact, there are no links from any desktop page to direct a user to this site and you would certainly need to have a strong interest in the subject matter to type that long URL in. If you arrive at this site on you mobile device it is probably because you read a TAG on an advertisement in a technical magazine.

The real point here is that just using a TAG to direct someone to your existing website is probably not the way you want to go. Of course not wanting to disparage any one in particular, we will not be showing an example of what not to do but there are plenty of examples.
